>>63175430The whole point of a multi-tier pyramid is that some markets can't support a full-blown MLS team with a multimillion-dollar stadium and tens of millions in entrance fees, all on top of selling the team outright to the league and contracting players centrally.
It could be less fractious, but MLS has a very different model from the lower leagues, and what may be necessary to keep the top tier profitable doesn't need to apply to lower level teams.
