Sometimes games are just very tight and there's no room for forwards. Rooney wasn't great today but he played pretty well. Martial was the best attacker on the pitch and Rooney was second.

Means nothing, they were all shit too. Doesn't mean Rooney gets to be shit also.

The United team can potentially be very good with Martial up front and Herrera behind but Rooney's inclusion ruins everything.

m8, I was one of the first calling for Rooney to be dropped at the start of this season, he's been absolutely dire at times this season

but today he played well and actually made an impact, he was giving the city defenders a torrid time and opening up space for martial/mata/herrera

he did well today, hopefully he keeps playing like that and improves from here on

He wasn't THAT good. Better than his normal performances but he was still awful when passing the ball and offered pretty much nothing up front. I don't want to settle for that mediocrity when we have such a promising talent in Martial being shoved out to the wing.

He'll have another dire performance in the next game and there will be nothing we can do about it.

i didn't say he was THAT good

but he played well and it was a good performance from him 7/10 compared to his usual 3/10

wasn't exactly a game with loads of space and time to produce lots of nice attacking play, it was very compact and rooney did well to muscle his way in and got right in about City's defenders
