It was a pretty raw deal all around.
To his credit, it's pretty undeniable he elevated the 2011 Broncos, they had not been to the playoffs in 5 years, had won 1(one) playoff game in 10 fucking years, a decade, the team was 1-4 when he got his start and he proceeded to pull off 4th quarter comeback after comeback to winning in the until their 2nd game of the post season.
I understand they would rather have manning, but they should have kept him as a backup. I don't think he's an "elite" QB, or even top tier, but there are at least 5 teams with worse starting QB's, so the fact no team wants him as a backup is silly, The Cowboys for example, are 0-4 since losing Romo, when they have a pretty decent team, because they were too stupid to keep a good replacement. Steelers for example have an elite QB and he got injured, they are able to keep the team floating because they had Vic on the bench.
He had some weak spots tho, that were glaring. He didn't pump fake well and had a big wind up - meaning ball hawks knew where he was going to throw, he also wasn't able to "feel" defenders rushing him very well, any time anyone got close to him he stopped looking for a receiver and started thinking he was a full back.
I think he would actually make a great Tight End
