I'd prefer the second but the old school baseball where lineups are serious tactical considerations is actually really exciting. The tactics change for an offensive series and you can't just buy a big bat clank to help your production.
There honestly is so much more going on coaching wise for an NL offensive series depending on who the first batter up is in an inning.
