If you're primarily interested in Men's MMA there's no reason why you have to watch the women's fights, and vis-versa, because men and women never fight each other.
People get interested in certain sports. There are plenty of people that follow highschool sports, or college sports. It's not about who has the most skilled athletes between two things which will never compete against each other.
Beyond that, as far as the debate goes, I think about ~50% of female fights right now (in Invicta and the UFC) are good, about the same as the guy's fights.
I would also make the argument that BJJ and MMA are sports very well suited to women's bodies. They're sports designed to be about strategy and technique over strength, things which are far more important to fighters with less muscle mass.
