I'll start with one of my recent favorites... Outrage aka Autoreiji (2010).

One of the best "Beat" Takeshi Kitano movies.

I've been looking for torrents of "Getting Any?" and "Takeshis'" for years, along with Ryuzo they are the only Kitano films I haven't seen. Does anyone know where I can find any of these?

There is actually a whole film series called Lone Wolf and Cub.
Shogun Assasin is (if memory serves) a mashup between two of the movies that was released to western audiences.
Anyway there are six movies in total.

Also why not talk about the Zato Ichi movies, I think there was over twenty of them...
And all of them are with English subs.

The older ones only get more popular as time goes on and more people get to hear about the good ones. New ones tend to be only watched by the few and eventually the word will spread over the years.

i have seen a lot of shit produced in the last 15 years and it's just that, shit. i might be biased because i just like 90s and 80s cinematography for reasons i cant explains (actually i can, i was born in the 80s) the washed out look and muted colours are dear to me.

There are still movies being done in that fashion, but I can understand preferring the older cinematography in general. Theres definitely some charm to it. Plenty of interesting stuff going on in more modern movies too, this thread honestly isnt the best example of such stuff though.
