Just read the background on reaper go to the wiki. The indoc is just like Chaos or genestealer taint/infection, it don't give a shit how strong your will is you will submit to reaper control by the end.

You are so full of shit if they are so good at it why is that we keep getting stories of it in BL and ccodexes of that shit happening all the time and then running out of control. It's because the IoM is so vast that they can't even send soldiers to the right planet half the time.

They get out of control, but the Imperium typically crushes them. It's not something that'd catch them unaware. That's a strategy other species and factions use, so they're always on the lookout for shit. Face it, your reapers get fucking raped to death in 40k. There's lots of settings that could take on 40k, nothing in ME is one of those.

TEC would just fucking turtle it up or be some sort of nomadic super fleet of powerful starships.

The Advent would most likely take control of a few planets via mind fucking and instate their religion, becoming the Imperium's public enemy #1.

The only thing I can think of that is definatively lower tier than them that isn't some "10 minutes into the future" story like The Martian, would be BSG, Space Above and Beyond, and maybe Firefly.

The issue for them is reaper tech ist just far worse than anything in 40k. Their weapons are several orders of magnitude weaker than anything considered a warship in 40k. They have pitifully short range too. It's a less fair fight than pitting guys with pistols a has against modern tanks.

Mass effect is just too reasonable to take on a setting as over the top ridiculous as 40k.

Eh. If they're willing too accept massive collateral damage they might be able to do it later too.

Showing up too a planet and going straight too orbital bombardment would undo any prep time that was had. If they land something serious like a titan legion immediately after it basically becomes the commander (if he even survived orbital bombardment) vs a dozen or so experimentals with only a couple minutes prep time.

Depends on how far up the cosmic scale you want to go. Obviously Galactus or the Celestials alone can't destroy the Imperium, but the Annihilation Wave and maybe bullshit like the Cancerverse can pose a serious threat. Then you can start going higher up to like Beyonders, who are so incomprehensibly powerful that they end the entire universe before the Imperium can even notice.

Which is why the Mechanicus would be so interested an scared of TEC. They can literally reinforce a planet to withhold planetary sieges in just a matter of days. Once they get a quadrant up they can just plonk Novaliths in the middle and just bomb the fuck out of anything.
