Both GW and FW have design and development costs, but designing and creating the moulds for plastic is a lot more expensive than for resin. Once you have, however, production is much cheaper and faster. The moulds last longer as well. What this means is that if you're only selling small numbers then resin is more profitable. If you're selling a lot, then plastic will cover the set-up costs quickly, and from then on it's all delicious profit. There's probably a magic number beyond which a plastic sprue would net them more money than keeping the product with FW, and they've picked product lines which they think will get there. This is why we might well see other marks of power armour in plastic, because if they sell well enough then it will mean more profit.
