>>43368178It's actually fairly telling of a failing that both we and GW have.
Modeller, painter, gamer, etc aren't set roles, they're another manifestation of Johnny/Timmy/Spike, and like the MtG psychographics people usually fall into multiple categories.
The problem is that GW seems to have fallen into the belief that their customers are only Painter or Vorthos, and see no reason to extend more than a token hand to the other demographics. They do this without realizing that people are combinations of those things.
That even a painter may want his carefully crafted army to be both legal and balanced even if he never plans on playing a game.
Or that Vorthos is also Gamer and is very upset that the fluffy 200 Ork Greenskin Horde that he's spent piles of money collecting and ages of time fluffing out has been hopelessly underpowered for nearly a decade.
This dispirits the customers and drives them away from the company if not the hobby altogether. It's why people get upset when GW says it's just a model company: the large majority of customers are invested in every aspect of the hobby to some extent, and they feel cut out and put down by the company they want to feel loyal to.
Just my 2 cents as a Vorthos/Modeller/Gamer.
