Let me say that Endow is pretty cool. It's like Evoke, which I am using, but better. However, beware: The cost for Endow should probably be more expensive than the spell, not less, since you get to keep it and use it again. It's the opposite of Evoke that way, so it should be costed as such.

I'll pick a few things to review:

Soul Renewer is a nice take on Angelic Renewal.

Still not comfortable with the anthem creatures being common.

I see Terror got cut down a bit. That's good. But see above for my thoughts on rarity.

Malediction should also probably be uncommon, a la Blood Artist. Though, it's a bit weaker than the Artist, and since your set is based around enchantments, maybe it's easier to remove, so perhaps it's fine as-is.

Seals are neat. Costing might need looking at on some but it's an idea I like and have used in the past myself.

Try this on for size. The way Opportunistic will work now is to amplify a particular effect/event specific to the card. So this one does life loss. Another might force an additional discard. Or deal damage to a creature in red, or something like that. I think it could be fun and rewards synergistic drafting. This was my other idea for it. If it's no good, I'm stumped and will just move on working on other parts of the set.

I was basing the endow cost off of what previous anon suggested for a high power enchantment set.

All the enchantment buff creatures got cut down. They either lost their +1/+1 buff or their static ability they granted.

Lastly everytime I raise the seals price I've been told that seals match the card they're imitating.

Actual lastly. Yes there will be enchantment removal. And auramancy (enchantment metal craft).

Auramancy is a good idea. If the set is supposed to be high-powered, then most things are probably fine, or close enough to it I suppose. I have a hard time with higher-power stuff, since I base a lot of my feedback off of Gatherer.

I should add though that you should still keep an eye on Endow. Repeatable stuff is very strong; look at how they cost creatures with tap abilities and no additional cost for an effect. They are usually pretty expensive. So keep that in mind, but again, not sure how much help I can be since your set has an atypical power level.

You need to specify an untapped creature you control, or else you can tap everything they have and tap the same creature you control over and over.
Also, I am not sure, but I believe you can just tap everything your opponent has and just fizzle the tap creature you control if you can't tap anymore.

Make the tap an untapped creature you control a cost.

His black ability is also really bad, a card in hand is worth much more than one in the library.

Also, you made a 4/4 creature for 4, with 3 static abilities and 3 activated abilities, and none of them are minus abilities.

It's weird that a card all about walls cares about attacking. I'd make the bonus happen on blocking instead.

The idea was supposed to be thst Phelddagrif can now wreck shit the old fashioned way. The positives and negatives were supposed to be countering each other and colour appropriate.

So tapping your creatures to tap opponents creatures.
Fighting creatures but letting your opponent choose their creature
And milling opponents but losing card advantage.

In edh a group hug deck uses a ton of mana ramp and card draw so I figured discarding wouldn't be so rough.

I suppose I could make it ...

(U): Return target creature to its owner's hand. Target creature you control becomes a 1/1 Green Hippo creature token.

Any better suggestions for the blue ability?

Also yeah I guess I'd remove Trample and Islandwalk.

The way its green ability is worded, your opponent doesn't get to choose his creature to fight. You would need to word it like the card "Arena".

Continuous return to hand would be too strong, and you could make the same creature be a green hippo.
You could make its blue ability to mill you and target player.

Help /ccg/. I've decided to start work on a Witch-based set called Coven and I have an idea for one of the mechanics.
It would be called Coven.
Basically Coven is, whenever a Witch etbs [EFFECT], but i don't know how to word it for MSE's formatting.
Also, posting one of my lands, for your critique, as it's the first land I've ever made.

And yes the turn into a creature effect is powerful. It's also the only one that isn't a 0 cost or a + effect.

As someone who really likes evoke, I wanna point out an issue with this design.

The evoke cost and creature cost are too close together in CMC. Sure, the evoke is easier to cast as far as colors are concerned, but not by a great deal. I recommend making them a 2/2 for 1WU or something, so that the different modes are more dissimilar. Right now, someone would be crazy not to spend the 1 extra mana for the body.

Pretty much parroting what someone else said. This is a really cool card but seems better for Abzan. That, or maybe a cycle of ravnica guild cards that incorporate a third color. Since this is pretty much exactly simic + gruul.

I generally gloss over cards if the text is too small. Doubly so if there's no art.

Wording needs a lot of work (look at oracle text for existing magic cards). The -2 is way too strong. The ult being able to refill loyalty is interesting.

The point is kinda that it gives a bonus at different times instead of everything all at once.

Also, untapped lands with advantages are a dangerous idea, at least make it enter the battlefield tapped.

Exiling the top of an opponent's library is rarely going to do anything relevant, now that scry is evergreen it could be a bit stronger of an effect on average but a sorcery speed "kinda screw up their plans but really not most of the time" card still sounds very weak. Unless you have a lot of in-set support for it you can probably drop that evoke cost, it honestly might be weak enough that you could get away with a cost of 0 and some sort of conditional requirement (only if you control an Island and Swamp, only if a card was discarded this turn, etc).

Nice flavor but this is so close to being a strictly worse Divination, only instant speed saves it and even then it's pretty bad since you can't just exile and play your land drop off-turn.

The idea here is that if the opposing player has some sort of library hate, something like mill, it doesn't completely fuck you up as you can simply choose which library you'd want the mill to effect.

It'd be much better if the other library that this card creates is immune to it altogether by changing the text, but that'd probably be too overpowered as your opponent wouldn't be able interact with it in the slightest (nor would you, as well).

Huge re-work with the Mesmerist. I had an idea for an Ingest/Fateseal/Scry wombo combo of a keyword action called Sift (name pending). I think it combines the finality of Ingest with the dickery of Fateseal, but allows the opponent a Scry with the remaining cards which can bite you in the ass. Might be fun? Sift will likely be UB only. I haven't been working on MtG stuff lately so quite rusty.

I see what you're saying, and it makes sense. I kinda disagree, but just because I put a lot of stock in the possibility that you wouldn't have that one mana, especially in Limited, so I figured the difference was actually pretty significant. I'll have to go look at other Evoke creatures to see if there are any similar ones for me to compare to so I can clarify it for myself.

I think I was right when I said it just sounded interesting, but I did a bit of thinking. From what I understand cards exiled face up means you and your opponent can look at them and they're in no real order. So basically the price is you give her a chunk of your mind and you can draw the cards of your choosing that are exiled with her if you want so long as she's on the battlefield. If she's gone, you've lost half your library. Commander fodder really.

Or is that too good?

How is it a downside? You get to look at the top X cards of an opponent's library and exile one, so it's more powerful than Ingest. But then, they get to pick where the remaining cards go so that part is weaker than Fateseal. You still get to get rid of a card, and have more options about what to get rid of than with Ingest, so it should be better. And it needs to be since there will be no interacting with the exiled cards, unlike with Ingest, so it needs to be better up front.
