It's the government. It's a form of a tax.

Public granaries are also safer then storing it at home. Additionally, this is the way to get money- while the money is backed by rice you may not always be able to purchase things with rice itself, but actually being able to have cold hard cash is a benefit.

I'm not really understanding your question, why would people turn in anything to their local authority unless forced to? It's part of a tax but its also a bit of a tradition and actually pretty beneficial to everyone.

If you die in my game, and your party doesn't or cannot revive you, you go back to level 1 as a new character. And the overall combat rating, and therefore the level of missions you get from the Guild (think the Guild of Dungeoneering game, you'll be close) gives you is lowered.

It's to create a roguelike atmosphere, where death has meaning not just create another character just as powerful.

The easy route.
We expunge it. We kill all scientists that worked on it or anyone who know anything about it, destroy any plans of it, records of it any data yielded for it, purge all news articles and records of it then finally to be safe outright restrict and ban the needed technology to do it. I always thought of it like watching a play.

From the perspective of the audience the characters will always make the same decisions and the events will always play out the same way. But that doesn't invalidate the reasons the characters made those choices. If I were to ask why Macbeth decided to kill his King "because he is a mere narrative puppet, slave to the will of the story" isn't a good answer. The fact that he will always make that same choice doesn't mean he didn't choose.

Even at GWs or FLGS that you play in and also sell the books themselves? They still let you play with printed material?

I see that as disrespectful but I also find it hard to justify buying the books. It actually keeps me from playing 40k a lot, because I don't want to cause drama or insult the owners.

Cleric seems fun, next run around I might go for a War Cleric or Light Cleric.
We already had a Druid AND a Bard so I didn't think another Divine/healing caster was necessary.

The guy playing our Bard is FUN.
He's new-ish and has a backround (in life) in things like poetry and he's playing a Valor Bard; he's like an epic skald who's "music" in battle is epic poetry and chanting, and he thinks up these wonderful poetic phrases and homilies and narrations a when "playing" his music and hacking away with his axe.

And yeah, paladins can reck face when they want. Good resource management is important for them though, so good that he has it. Then again, imo, resource management is an important skill for any person to have both in game and out of game. I know a few people who could learn a thing or two from your paladin I would bet ^^"

Anywho, i'm off. I need to get some rest before my night shift tonight so I'll see you guys around midnight if this thread is still around :)

I withdraw my rifle, placing it on my back as the mag-locks hold it in place, my personal sidearm: a modular pistol, a gift from my best friend, sings in its holster as it taps against my waist.

"Yes the necromorphs and the Unitologists have finally been on the retreat, but that doesn't excuse tardiness."

"You should at least have some optimism, Jake. No need to be so pessimistic."
