>>43256941>It's a bladelock that fixes the problems of bladelock. Bladelock is a clumsy version of Witch Hunter missing the necessary odds and ends.Weeeell that sounds sexy then. Maybe I'm a horrible autist and most likely everyone who plays with me hates my guts, but my opinion's always been that GISH. EVERYTHING. is a way of life all PCs should be able to choose if they are only willing.
>>43256866Ah fair enough.
>>43256850>I did look into World of Dungeons but didn't care much for it. I heard about Mini Six on here for the first time recently, it sounds pretty neat. I guess I'll check that out too.I feel that Mini Six sits comfortably in a position between rules lite and mid-crunch in a way many retroclones strive for but don't quite manage.
It's got just the right amount of sub-systems to both allow you to build mechanically diverse characters AND keep play fairly straight forward and smooth. The only issue is that it's got pretty much just the core book and the line as well as the ones it was based on are all dropped.
>Also more specifically I guess I am talking about Fantasy AGE, the system behind it. Is it good or bad? What's good or bad about it, compared to similar systems? My definition of "Good system" is as follows.
"Facilitates the type of experience it advertises in a way that requires the least amount of steps to achieve without rendering itself obsolete".
In that sense I'd consider Fantasy AGE to be mediocre.
Good things:
-Straightforward rolling
-Simply charsheet
Bad things:
-Fairly undifferentiated combat/social/mental sub-systems
-Fairly undifferentiated weapons sub-systems
Think of two childhood favourites, Teen Titans and Pokemon.
In Pokemon you have a myriad different little gadgets and elements (yes, yes flying isn't an element) that interact with one another.
In Teen Titans you have two ranged flyers, three ranged characters and three CQC types.
Titansgrave is the latter. Very same-y and repetitive. If fun, but yeah. Same-y.
