I was going to, but the people I was able to get to play in it really put me off about the whole thing. I'd still like to run it at some point, but at the time all I could think of was "I'm going to have to spend six hours with these people every week."
Basically the idea behind it was what if Aang failed to defeat the firelord at the end and that weirdo light thing ends in Ozai's favor, ending the avatar and the avatar line. But things don't go well for him after that. It turns out that the avatar has the passive effect of keeping the elements in balance, as well as the spirits. People stop being able to fully control their bending and the separation between the physical world and the spirit world are weakened, allowing spirits to do pretty much whatever they want all the time. The fire nation is a burnt cinder, the earth kingdom is nothing but a desert with massive mountain ranges jutting up through the sand, and the northern water tribe is the seat of power for the darkened version of the ocean spirit, who has enslaved the water tribe. Things are bleak as fuck.
The players would have been people trying to re-learn bending and how to exercise control over the elements, but people with bending talents are despised by the general populace.
