The Brits love watching it when the NFL visits Wembley, and Japan has its own league play that's fairly popular. Not to mention the entire western hemisphere plus Japan are big into baseball.

So while they're not as popular as football/soccer, some "American" sports definitely have a wider following and interest.

Which is annoying because Rugby is much more of a running game than eggball and more interesting to watch because of it - there's less of that silly "throw to a guy, who runs two feet then falls over" all the way up the field meaning that who ever gets possession is almost guaranteed to get a touch down or field goal.
