>favorite sword brandsDepends on the purpose. Contact fencing, WMA/HEMA drills, practical fuction (hunting, test cutting etc) or ACL/BotN?
For contact fencing, I swear by CAS/Hanwei's practical rapier blades, Darkwood and Alchem (now out of business). My current rapier is a Hanwei practical blade, and my hand and a half is an Alchem as pictured in
>>43266337. The pic in this post is my simple rapier, with a Hanwei blade, and a home made hilt and handle.
Drills can be anything you like really. Nothing wrong with a decent Hanwei, though had I the money, I'd go with Albion.
My hunting sword is custom, but my cutting sword is Baltimore knife and sword works. I would never say no to a BKS hunting sword if offered.
For ACL/BotN, BKS is my go to. Hanwei practical blades can do, but tend to only last a few seasons. Lutel seems to be a bit heavy and SLO in my opinion. Albion is out of my budget to even think of using, and I wouldn't out of not wanting to get it broken.
