Get a business plan together. Get your design together. Go to a bank and apply for a small business loan. They're the original Kickstarter.

I would say that with no experience (besides the people I work with having done Kickstarters and projects, never myself having put out a product or done a Kickstarter) with the situation and so there is much risk in putting yourself on a public stage early on there is also the benefit of being able to give yourself a popular stage to get word of your product out. The risk is nothing at all to joke about but how would you recommend overcoming the benefit of Kickstarter if we were to take your suggestion. It seems like the risk is awful in itself the benefits innate to the plan are hard to pass up on.

Doesn't matter if you have nothing to show for it.

If you're a Literally Who with nothing to demonstrate your talent, just focus on and make the game mechanics first. Make sure they're solid, fun, whatever - then go to kickstarter to fund stuff like art, editors, etc.

Otherwise you'll get nothing, or worse, the people who backed you will get nothing.
