It is extremely powerful, the slug comes out so fast it can punch a hole right through a tank and suck the contents out of the exit hole, ammunition can be made from scrap and it is heavy and durable enough to use as a club.
Down side is that, durable as it is, its a bugger to repair without hard to get parts and the reload time is a bitch.
At some point you need to make a small portable nuclear reactor to wear as a back pack to power it otherwise you are going to bleed batteries.
