It's pretty funny at times, obnoxiously meh at others. The writing is fan-fic tier but it's literally fan-fic so this isn't a problem.

I do like how he's trying to write an actual plot to it these days though and not just "Emperor swears XD" jokes.

Any character inconsistencies (Magnus especially who is a dumbass in the show) are dismissed as "it's a comedy" which can get grading.

The Youtube series is terrible. An amazing setting which draws upon a wealth of other tropes and ideas in sci-fi and fantasy leaves a lot of humor and material to to call upon, yet somehow the creator can't make a single funny joke.

I really wish that whoever makes it would stop, because it's hurting the hobby. How may sperg "fans" of 40k do you think this has spawned? Everyone who enjoys this web series that I've had the misfortune of meeting completely disregards the lore, the tone, and the setting when discussing 40k. Instead they spew memes at actual fans. As a long term 40k player and fan, it's depressing to see the kind of worthless failures that these videos attract to the hobby and fandom, it makes me not want to interact with others who enjoy my hobby for fear of running into the landmine that is a fan of this garbage.

I enjoyed it, apart from Magnus being literally retarded and the presence of a few overdone jokes (centurion, old men making poop jokes). But i always giggle when the Karstodes turn up, and while the fanfiction storyline is fanfiction, it showcases a decent amount of what the setting is and how it (kinda) works. I used it to get a recalcitrant 3.5 drone to consider a game of Rogue Trader, since his main problem was that the setting was unapproachable. Best thing for people new to the setting since DoW.

You're right, but 40k still wouldn't be a fandom. A fandom is someone who enjoys MLP or shows, book series, etc. Someone else makes it and they're just fans. They don't partake or interact with it in that way.

You'd call them hobbyists since they partake in it and play the game, paint overpriced minis, and tip fedoras and rage over canon that even GW says is flexible. So, it's a little different than a fandom.

I enjoyed the early episodes that were nothing but the Custodes guy sheepishly telling the Emperor what he missed and the Emperor getting annoyed over it. When they started trying to make a plot out of it with the Inquisition and the High Lords of Terra and whatever else, I thought it got really stupid really fast and I quit watching it.

Yeah, that Godzilla remake really sucked, they were too loyal to the cinematic goals espoused in the originals.

Compared to that, the Robocop remake was amazing, they took the initiative to put a brand new spin on the corporate mockery and gorn overload tracked in the original and they avoided the steps taken by the old version out of utmost respect for its sacrosanct originality.

Warhammer Fantasy is a fantasy setting. End Times killed it, Age of Sigmar is the sequel/reboot.

Warhammer 40k is science fiction with heavy fantasy elements. It borrowed heavily from Fantasy, then became it's own thing.

The two are very different. Originally they were a shared setting in a multiverse, new writers seem to be half steering away from that, half using it as an in-joke.

The Chaos Daemons faction, AKA main villains, were basically the same between both although Age changed them heavily so that is no longer true.

Orcs and Orks (Fantasy and 40k) were similar, but again; Age changed a lot.

Honestly I just want to see where they go with reviving other primarchs. I like the depiction of Magnus as a whiney bookworm. And the interactions where he and kitten are vying for attention/affection from the emperor are entertaining.
If the series is to be believed the n Vulkan is up next for returning. Looking forward to that.

No, I'm with the other guy, it was clearly a joke about the lack of any lore concerning the Men of Iron, with Kitten standing in for fans who want to know more and get nothing from GW.
Plus, what else is he going to do? Invent his own canon for them out of whole cloth? There's nothing the Emperor can say about them because nothing's been established.

There is 3rd edition rulebook fluff concerning Men of Iron (robots), Men of Stone and Men of Gold (humans) and BL books and comics showing actual Men of Iron, but of course Alfabusa doesn't know about it because he is little meme bitch who knows zero shit about real 40k.

His lack of Ad. Mech lore exploration troubles me. He's probably one of the people who think the Adeptus Mechanicus is a subordinate to the IoM, when its really no. The whole reason the Emperor adopted the Aquila as his symbol is because it represents the twin empires of Terra and Mars.
