>>43289246A couple of the players already owned it and I tried it out with them, made the side-bar comment of how thematically close to Shadowrun it was and how it wouldn't really be out of place for the games to go together. They insisted on the spot that we figure out how to make it work, so that's what's been keeping me busy for the last few weekends.
Honestly, because of the similarities, there's not a whole lot to change. I'm just trying to figure out how to cut the rules down so you don't stop your main game to have a 20-40 minute mini-game between a couple players while everyone else watches. I've tried reducing the total score necessary to win and giving the runner more win conditions (like breaking a certain number of ice instead of stealing agendas), but I don't have the time for enough play testing to speed things up.
>>43289411I was perma-DM for like 8 years before D&D 5e came out. All of my players wanted to try it, so I convinced a couple of them to buy the DMG as well and then convinced those guys to goof around using the randomization tables to build a session. Then I was like, "Well, it's already there so why don't you give DM'ing it a shot? Everything is already built for you, you just have to roll dice for creatures and stuff."
I am no longer perma-DM, but only if I want to play 5e. Baby steps.
