So, I'm planning to run a COC 7th ed one shot to see how it goes. I heard Dead Light was a good and short scenario... But from reading it... isn't it kind of shallow? There's no horrible truth to discover (not really)! And the antagonist is kind of blah. It's just not weird and lovecraftian enough. Should I add some more layers of story and more mindfucking powers to the BBEG?
I'm thinking something like this: The good doctor has a secret laboratory underneath the house, maybe he was conducting experiments akin to the ones in "From Beyond". Thus a being from that plane of existance was drawn into our reality. He's getting ready to get the fuck away from the area when he get's some unwanted visitors. The being is drawn to the scene cuz of all the emotions and shit. The being can mimic humans OR people killed by it are turned into ash-zombies.
Or is there enough in the module as it is and I'm just overthinking it?
Also I can't seem to find 7th ed specific scenarios other than this one. Are there any? What are some good ones?
