>>43295813My dark elves live in the northern part of my magitek setting. It's a tundra.
They aren't neither evil nor good. Morally, most of them are neutral and too busy surviving there. Ya know, cultivating what little land can be used for farming, fishing and hunting sea monsters for food, subjugating the wild areas under expanding their homelands.
The dudes are ruled by a council of elders that come from every layer of society and who makes social decisions. The military decisions in times of war are done by lord commanders selected from among the higher ups of their military.
Their society is based around hard work and discipline. Originally they were an artificially created warrior elite of the now gone Elven Empire, but after way too much humiliations at the hands of the vanilla elves who grew decadent over time, the D.E. managed to free themselves from their arcane chains and tear everyone a new one before skedaddleling north.
The whole hard work and discipline thing are something to counter them turning into the empire they once served. Discipline, because of their militaristic origins, and hard work, because only this way they can live the lives they wanted. And due to this, they managed to build a kingdom that would be essentially what if Drows didn't have the whole backstabbing and stupid evil thing going around.
