I want to get into games like, to use the generic example dungeons and dragons. But I don't know where to start. Where can a guy with no experience with these games learn these rules and even get a game going?

KAT, download the books that are out for whatever RPG you wanna get into, to use your example, D&D 5e. Get The Player's handbook and the starter Adventure "Lost Mines of Phandelver" if you want and run that.
Other neat sources for a general idea of how stuff works are dnd podcasts and youtube videos. I don't have that much experience myself but got a campaign going with my friends and me as a DM doing that.

First get a group of friends interested in it then download the player's handbook and dm's habdbook for dnd 5e and read through it finally set up and play a game.

Go to the general for 5e or whatever system taxes your fancy and grab the phb, read it all.

As for finding a game try roll20 it's fairly popular and many games don't mind taking on a noob so long as you pay attention and learn the rules.

Try to interest your IRL friends if possible. Being a noob GM running for noobs is a typical way to start off. Pick something simple like the newest edition of D&D so you don't overwhelm yourselves. Figure it out together.
