>>43311390>>43315808>>43316262Ex-Mail Order Troll here, back when the US HQ was Baltimore. GW didn't really have sales, at least not that I remember, and I've been gaming for almost 20 years now. A few exceptions, though:
1. At GamesDays we sold metal bits by the pound instead of by the piece; you could get amazing deals or be screwed, depending on the weight of what you wanted.
2. The Skulls program built you points for free units to complete your army (I think there were unique army standard bearers, and misc prizes like the old Adeptus Mechanicus models)
3. There would be car-boot sales for otherwise damaged product (read: torn plastic on a box set, dented corners, etc), but that was probably just a Battle Bunker thing since the HQ was right next door (and things got damaged all the time - one time a guy tripped in the metal bits room and knocked over every shelf, mixing everything together. It sounded like a highway pileup and shook the whole place. We swept it all up and sold them for $5/bag just b/c it wasn't worth the time to separate thousands of diff bits back into their bins. The metal/casting dept was not pleased)
I won't go into the details of how it went downhill, but I'll summarize with "Britain HQ was not good about making decisions related to the US, would not listen to anyone, and generally treated all Americans like shit".
Anyway, this is a paint thread and I have nothing to offer so I'll shut-up.
