So I just had a bit of an argument with a friend.
I don't like to define my characters' sexual orientation, or gender identity beyond man/woman. I feel like it's kind of pigeonholing to label such a complex thing like that, and it also forces emphasis on what, rather than who, a character is.
My friend, however, doesn't think it's pigeonholing or a label. She says it's just part of who a character is.
Thoughts, /tg/? Is it better to define, or not define, a character's sexual and gender identity?
