Pulp Adventure setting.

No.43307846 ViewReplyReportDelete
New RPG setting and using FATE's Spirit of the Century. It is a pulp adventure alternate history setting, very similar to the setting for the video game series Crimson Skies.
Started the idea by thinking of an RPG in an alternate history setting made for a mod for the Paradox computer game Hearts of Iron II: the mod known as Kaiserreich.

It's based on the idea of a 1940s era history but after the Central Powers had won WWI. France and Britain have undergone Marxist revolutions, and Germany is the dominant world power.

But lets take it a bit further. Germany still has to maintain their gold standard for their economy and has resorted to strip mining in Africa in order to make sure their currency is not devalued. The Ottoman Empire maintains a near monopoly on the oil trade for the time being. Both of these things need to be shipped overland and a new way of shipping, rigid airships, has become more popular for shipping over land and transportation. Air piracy has begun across Asia, Africa, and the oceans (dashing adventure for air pirates).

The US is fractured due to an economic depression. Crime from smuggling and extortion are on the rise as gangs and corruption takeover more and more influence. Secession, if not a second civil war, may be inevitable. (Pulp hero crime noir)

Syndicalism, a Marxist system based on the economy and the state being run by collective union parties, has taken over France, Britain, Southern Italy, and Mexico. The Emperors and Republics of the world are at a threat and a great cold war has now been brewing between the nations. (Espionage and Subterfuge).

With new methods of transportation and revolutions in science, new lands are being discovered in Antarctica, central Asia, Central Africa, and the islands of the Southern Pacific. Explorers and treasure hunters seek their new fortune, but what darkness lurks in the untamed lands? (Archaeological/exploration adventures).
