How do you keep satyrs/fawns and elves out of eachothers niches in your setting.

Inb4 some autisimo puts a sioux hat on one and a qing dynasty china hat on the other

It really depends on what you think of as a "niche". Do species have to have a niche? What defines this niche? Their origin? Their ecology? Their anatomy? Why does a niche develop and how does it develop?

That's how I really think about it. Why do elves fill the niche they do compared to humans, dwarves, etc.

I've done this in my setting with their origin, where elves come from and why, what elves are, etc.
