>>43316828>what I have seen it seems incredibly full of itselfThat's mostly a new Who thing. The Doctor could definitely be a Mary Sue in the old show, but the show didn't roll around in how awesome that was, and didn't center the universe around the Doctor.
>I only know one guy who likes Doctor WhoI know a lot of people who like Doctor Who, but most of them had at least a passing experience with the classic show. But I don't know, maybe the stuff I dislike about new Who actually appeals to chicks (Mary Sue cranked up to 11, relationshippy, fantasy rather than science fiction, etc.).
>>43316738And as they became more and more powerful, the plots with them became less and less plausible. I mean, the first introduction of a Dalek in the new show was a beat-up as shit survivor of a planetary crash, and it somehow threatened the entire Earth by itself. How the fuck are you supposed to use things like that as a recurring enemy?
Also, while the Daleks supposedly became super geniuses, they actually acted stupider and stupider. They'd just repeat "ex-ter-min-ate!" over and over, like some kind of insipid guard dog. I really hate what new Who did with the Daleks, and to the Cybermen, and to... well, just about any enemy peoples it resurrected from the old show.
