>>43318993After getting over the shock, the group decided to round up and question the surviving inhabitants of the island and work out what to do next. Reginald went to his suitcase and pulled out his partly-unassembled Lee-Enfield 1903, considering what he'd just seen and the stress he was facing, he thought it best to remain armed. Similarly, Felix and Drew had smuggled their own weapons to the island, an M1907 and an M1917 revolver, respectively.
The first thing of duty was to find and collect the inmates and see if the culprit was amongst them. Their suspect had to be capable of twisting a man's head around and shoving furniture that weighed at least 200 pounds out of the way, which would narrow the suspects down somewhat.
Blanche, the older resident who had let them into the asylum, was dismissed as she was an old lady. The next inmate, Darlene, was on the island being treated for severe alcoholism and was similarly incapable. Hawkins, the crazy schizophrenic, was twitchier than a rabbit on ice but physically weak, and the entire time he kept shouting about "balls" and "the window" of his room, even though it was in the basement. The amnesiac was calm, collected, and as helpful as she could be, but otherwise turned up no new evidence. One of the inmates, a sociopath named Henry Barber who was being studied closely by Brewer was then thought to be a reasonable suspect until he turned out to be a skinny, weedy guy with a selfish streak. And the older man with Alzheimers just laughed to himself.
Going through each of the patient's records and matching them turned up no clues, but it was obvious that someone was missing from the asylum - the only question being, was it an inmate or a staff member?
It's at this point that Felix realised via an Idea roll they'd forgotten the last inmate - Allen Harding, the crazy poet, who was also being kept in one of the basement rooms.
