Help Me With a (low-level) Pathfinder Rogue

No.43314305 ViewReplyReportDelete
So... after adamantly refusing to play Pathfinder forever, I've been convinced to finally join a game. Needless to say, I have no idea what I'm doing.

The group needed a skill-monkey (they've got two melee fighters and a cleric already), so I figured I could just pump all my points into intelligence and rely on sneak attacks for the majority of my damage. However I have absolutely zero idea how to actually plan around this. I've made a few builds based around combat maneuvers to blind enemies for sneak attacks, but I'm told this becomes worthless later on and can be countered pretty easily without a ton of feats. I also tried a build based on Feinting, but it seems to have similar problems and cut into my action economy even when it does work.

Anyway, I'm just asking for general advice I guess. We're starting the campaign at level 4 and told we'll be progressing up to 8 or so pretty quickly... I'd like something useful before or soon after this point because things are going to slow down alot after that progression-wise. "Unchained" classes are allowed (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/unchained-classes/rogue-unchained#TOC-Rogue-s-Edge), in fact I was actually told by the GM to use this instead of the regular one.

Thanks in advance.
