Asked in a thread late last night, but want to try again for more responses and perspective.
I was reading up on the Three Kingdoms period in China after the Han collapsed, and I was thinking of making a setting at least a little based on the Jin after they "unified" things.
I want a society that's just been through a century of hellish conflict, and where the population level is roughly 30% of what it was before shit went down.
Plenty of ruins and empty areas and brigands and stuff for adventure, but especially for a pseudo medieval/renaissancish society that a lot of fantasy deals with, what's the general sort of mood, how are people going to be acting like, when they're just starting to rebuild after their whole society fell apart like that?
