>>43322084The problem, friend anon, is that despite it all, you are talking about a game BASED on math and hard numbers.
Those numbers rule the way the game works out in play, and when those numbers do NOT work, there is something wrong.
As for the warder thing, it's recognized by everyone, including it's creators, that the damage it can do with certain methods tends to obviate other methods which the devs consider ideal.
There is a break down in math, the core expectations of the game, and that is generally an issue, even if it doesn't come up for you, me or everyone. Another very good example is how you could accidently break 3.5 by playing certain classes a certain way that makes sense, is perfectly logical and insetting fluffy, but the game, due to poor math, is not designed to handle it (combat cleric, druid, control/debuff wizard).
The discussion happens when people realize, "Hey, we paid money for something that does NOT fulfill the promise on the box!", and that riles up a lot of people. Further, you can't actually sit down and have lengthy discussions about campaigns because they are all different, with different personalities, circumstances, people, places, etc. The only thing in common is the math, the numbers, the things that come out the box, and so we talk about those.
Yet, if you want to talk about your campaign, I encourage you to do so!
