>>43328218Night Wizard is a pretty fun anime that doesn't take itself too seriously even as it does things like "explode a chunk of Saturn's rings." It's pretty much Max Anime.
3rd edition Night Wizard changes some rules up, some good, some not so good. It gets rid of the Shadowrun-esqe "Count" system for initiative (2E: you took your turn and then dropped your Count by 10, and if you had <0 Count you could go again later; 3E: roll for initiative, once you're done, you're done.) It adds an MP cost to most everything, which balances shit like Werewolves (so fucking OP in 2E.) Instead of picking a class and a role, you pick two classes and can take skills from either one, with the option of being able to change classes as you level (not a bad change, because Roles which an interesting idea didn't really work too well in 2E.)
They also got rid of tile-by-tile dungeon crawling and instead instituted this weird Tree of Sephirot system which basically is just "here's a room, it has these connections. Beat the challenge in the room, and move on through one of the gates."
Still keeps C/F Mod and Prana, which I liked from 2E pretty well. Classes feel more balanced but also more samey. Plus side, damn near everyone gets a Broom now, and Brooms are more than just guns! Basically any kind of "awesome as shit item" is a Broom, now. But that leads to things like the Hacker class being able to wield the Guitar Broom... and the Guardian class being able to wear an armor Broom that is shaped like a theme park mascot and it works like badass armor because of course it does.
I had a translation of 3E like 95% done, though it didn't contain much fluff. Just the stuff you needed to know to play the game. I might finish it one of these days... just had like eight classes left to translate, then needed to rewrite that shit so people could actually, y'know, read it.
