That depends so much on context that I don't think it can even be answered properly. In my games the best magical upgrade for a weapon is whatever you manage to get your hands on, because magic items are all rare and unique artifacts that cannot be reproduced and all of whom have unique abilities and benefits. Finding a weapon that would be considered of 'moderate' power in another game may be an entire adventure for my group, and the truly epic weapons in the rulebook are things so mythic that only the barest memory of their existence still lingers.

My personal favourite weapon enchantment was one that allowed the blade to strike the turn BEFORE you swung it, thereby hitting opponents with ease, but it required that you move into position on your next turn or otherwise the temporal paradox would cause the sword to become non-magical for 24 hours.

Allowed the player to have limited control of time when holding the blade. More specifically it would activate once it hit an opponent, rewind time a heartbeat, then replay the successful attack over and over infinitely with the damage adding up from each previous attack.

The problem with this one is that time doesn't start up again if your sword breaks while in time-stop mode. You'd be potentially dooming the universe with every swing.

The dream of a weaponsmith is for a world where his services are no longer necessary.

When your sword is drawn, it is simply a sharp piece of metal, albeit one that's masterfully crafted. When it is in its sheath, however, no weapons within a given area can be used on a human. Swords stick in their scabbard or are too heavy to swing, bows won't stay strung, guns jam, etc. Perhaps missiles fired from outside the radius lose momentum when they enter the area of effect, harmlessly tapping their target. Fists, however, may still be used.

Sadly it's not quite that efficient. You could draw a sword from someone, but it would not harm them: You simply draw for a weapon and find no matter what you reached for, the pitted, rusty blade is there.

My GM ave us fanny packs of holding for free at the start of a campaign once. A half-crazy gnome wizard literally bumped into us on the road. Our barbarian picked him up, brushed him off, and said sorry. So he gave us four fucking fanny packs of holding.

They can hold anything that fits through the mouth in any amount.
