>>43333412> Well, first of all, I wouldn't trust Lorgar in theological or any other issues simply because he is a loony. And his teachings still form the bedrock of the Imperial Cult. I'd say that lends him some merit on theological issues of the Church he founded.
> Those persons who can use their faith against the forces of Chaos are using their latent psychic powers that are fueled by their faith. The image of the aquila doesn't do anything.Yet it's mentioned time and time again that even just an aquila alone is bothersome to entities of the Warp.
Not to mention, again, sheer semantics. What is the quantitative difference between the psychic power of one of the Chaos 'gods' being channelled through a human host, to the psychic power of the Emperor doing the same? They're equally not 'gods' in the Abrahamic sense, yet you claim Chaos is divine while the Emperor isn't.
> His power is not "divine" like the power of Chaos gods since it is psychic. Or are all psychics in Warhammer 40,000 gods? Are all the psychics in all fiction gods? Is Yuri god because he can enslave the whole Earth with his Soviet mind-fuckery or is Yuriko a goddess since she can use her mind to kill people? Is Mewtwo a god since it can destroy the whole world? Are mind flayers deities?Divinity in the 40k universe is entirely founded upon belief. The Emperor is a god because trillions of human souls pray to him as one. Similarly, the Chaos gods feed fundamentally on emotion but are strengthened by direct devotion.
Those other examples aren't gods because nothing in their lore has any parallel to the metaphysics of the Warhammer universe.
