There's a greentext tale somewhere of a group who went to mars searching for a lost expedition, and the GM played creepy planet sounds and stuff. I don't remember much more about it, but i know background sounds have been done well before.

I actually just ripped this off last week and ran it for a few friends. It didn't go quite as well as the original, but it was pretty freaking good nonetheless. I had it set up with a nice speaker system connected to my laptop.
