I'm just noting that I've seen him call out rolls, or ask someone to call out a roll, and he'll get it, with about a 95% success rate, so the one time he rolls with his hands and not with a cup struck me as a rather hamfisted way of "fudging" without technically fudging.
If you're going to fudge numbers, you don't want the players to notice, if at all possible, and I did.
