So as you all know, it is GW's stance that what the player believes is canon, is canon, due to the murky nature of the Imperium's record keeping and it's incredible biasedness.

So, I'm proposing an AU where Chaos is actually the good guys, and fight a war for the human condition, wanting humanity to be able to feel, to change, and grow in new and exciting ways, while the Imperium wants mankind to just remain unthinking automations mindlessly chanting praises to the corpse-god, forever. All incidents of chaos cruelty have been blown out of proportion to keep the truth from the masses. I dunno about xenos yet.
