My 21st birthday is coming up in around a month, and I'm planning on getting drunk off my ass in celebration. As a huge tabletop nerd, I want to do some card game/board game/RPG-related things that become more fun while drunk. I'm already thinking of doing a game of Time Wizards, but I wanted to see if you guys had any other good ideas.
No, I've never gotten drunk off my ass before. Let's just talk about fun-while-drunk games, alright?

My friends and I used to play a drinking game with a d12 and shot glasses.

Each person has three shot glasses in front of them (this is their 'hand'), and a few bottles of whatever they're drinking. (for the sake of fairness, nothing over 6.0% abv) You'll also need a few extra shot glasses off to one side.

Each person calls someone elses name and rolls the d12. Depending on the facing one of four things can happen:

>1,3,5,7,9: You swap one of your shot glasses with that person, either full or empty for full or empty.
>2,4,6,8,10: That person fills up one of their own shot glasses
>11: Either: You pick up an empty shot glass and put it in your hand, or you force that person to discard one of their empty shot glasses.
>12: Everyone fills up one shot glass, everyone drinks.

The general rule:
You fill your shot glasses as directed. If you are directed to fill your shot glass but you cannot as all of the shot glasses in your hand are full, you drink every full shot glass in your hand (cascade). After this event you discard one of your empty shot glasses, reducing your hand-size by one.

It's a bit of fun. As people are subjected to shrinking hand-sizes the cascade events increase in frequency. We don't play this game anymore, because we were all smashed within forty minutes.

The Pokemon Drinking Board Game with a game of king's cup happening at the same time.
i.e. draw a card and roll the dice every turn.

My friends and I play it whenever we need to go from sober to being drunk enough to be vomitting and crying in a corner because: "Nandos isn't open this late. No KFC isn't okay, my uncle molested me in a KFC. If any of you were really my friends you'd kill me now. I am weak, be my strength and just kill me. PRAISE PELOR!", all in less than an hour.

Drinking games with people who hate to lose are really fun, haha.
Pokingsmon is best played with 3-4 players and the second round is always more fun, it separates the alcoholics from the functional adults, haha.

Think I was 15 or 16 when I had to chug a King's Cup that was 1/3 Gin, 1/3 Beer, and 1/3 Vodka-Redbull, the memory still haunts me 10 years later

I've won a few times. We've added a few homerules to make sure that everyone participating winds up regretting the whole ordeal.
Strangely people come back for more though. Probably because the alternative is drinking monopoly, which gets dark and rapey quick.

Drunkquest was actually pretty fun when I played it. You initially think its going to be too easy but inevitably there's one round where everything goes to shit and suddenly you've been allocated 25 drinks

Beer cans + duct tape = wizards

Fun game where you tape you new beer to empties making a wizard staff, gain powers every 3 beers which you can use every 2 beers like fire ball, the person you hit + those either side of have a drink etc... also there's reflect (self explanatory ), lightning (same as fireball but in a line), ray of frost (target can't move tI'll they finish two beers or skull the remains of current beer), sanctuary (can't be targeted for next two beers if hit due to another targeted eg fireball loose sanctuary). And when you run out of cans the sword / staff / joust begins.

You can add more spells like magic missile target drinks two, really up to you. Normally ends in raucous fun one time down in Dunedin a mate if mine drank so much by the end of the night he had a massive trident, while others had a staff and short sword (height was limited by the ceiling in the flat ). Funniest part of tge game is watching you mates drink from the staffs as the get past the 6 or 7 beer mark

I happen to be an expert on this subject. Here's what you do, OP: deploy lasers and feelings, explain the mechanic and have your players jot down a number. Ask your as-of-yet-unaware players to fill about 8-10 pieces of paper with random stuff, and 2-3 with REALLY crazy shit. Put that all in a bowl. Tell each to pull 4, and asign those to their characters: description, profession, skill and bane. Then pull 4 that will be: Threat, wants to, with/against, that will lead to. Carry on playing laser&feelings just pulling up shit from the bowl when you need ANYTHING - npc, location, threat, etc. and interpet what it means.

Last game I did that I had a crew of a sentient AI sofa, turtle veggie vendor and a ladybug fisherman get caught in a space-cow-storm while trawling for spess-carps and land on a volcanic planet of squirrels threatened by an ugly car businessman and his poodle lackey who wanted to bomb the planet with uranium meteors and it all ended with the car raping a squirrel to intimidate the team. Shit was weird and fun.

Goddamn Americans, drinking at 21, well atleast your liver will last longer.

Take two sets of playing cards, and spread them in a face-down circle. Then take turns drawing cards.

2, 3, 4 - x number of sips, where x is the card number

5 - establish a rule, and a punishment (for example, those who do not drink with their left hand, must chug the whole thing)

6 - drink with the person on your right

7 - you may take the card and pass the next draw

8 - target player drinks a sip

9 - play a game: start with a word, and the next player continues with a word starting on the last two syllables of the previous one, fail to find a word, sip (stasis-islam-america-canada-danger...)

10 - you and target player drink a sip

Jack - all males drink a sip

Queen - all females drink a sip

Kings - everyone drinks a sip

Works best with beer or vodka mixed with some fruit juice, but you can use anything I guess.

Have to say this before suggesting games: don't chug your first time drinking, pace yourself. You don't know where your limit is and you don't want to crash halfway through the night and/or vomit on your games.

With that out of the way-

Start with the more complicated games then go simpler as everyone gets drunk if you want to keep the pace up. There are plenty of fun games that use only a cup of dice and/or some cards.

If you want some sweet co-op action, the Legendary deck-building games are some of my favorite that are a nice intermediary. (Especially the Aliens version). Have a laugh with your friends while xenomorphs slowly kill you all. It's like Arkham but without the tedious setup.

I ran a game like this a... well... let's just say a VERY long time ago.

We booked the weekend for about five of us at a friend's house. We all brought sleeping bags and party supplies and booze. I was Dungeon Master.

The rules were simple. Don't take the game too seriously. When the game is over on Sunday evening, it's OVER. The whole campaign is friday to sunday. Everyone creates at least two characters. Any system is fine. I'll make them all run together in my head, which once I'm well and truly drunk will be hilarious. The group got a bag of holding for their loot, and if someone passed out, it was assumed that he was in stasis in the bag.

So we had about a dozen characters from three publishers and seven or eight game systems. The Shadowrun PC was eliminated almost immediately. One guy was so proud of his ruthlessly min-maxed clan mechwarrior... until he died at the touch of a Red Cap changeling another player whipped up on the fly, when the red cap used his haywire power on the clanner's mad cat. Several WoD characters showed up, which was great because D&D monsters grant D&D-levels of XP, and a five hundred XP orc will shoot the world of darkness character's power level into the stratosphere.

No this doesn't make much sense. Yes, we had a blast. We were drunk as shit by this point.

The game was finally won by a combination of two players. One was a "death knight" (no, I don't remember what system he used) but he cast a fertility spell on the other guy's mokole character (were-alligator from WoD). Mokole get extra dice for every child they have. So the mixed army of mokole children, the mokole PC ("mamma" aka godzilla) and the death knight rampaged over the world. Whenever a mokole was killed, it was rezzed as a skeletal mokole-lich under the death knight's control.

Chaos conquers all.

Midway through, we'd stumbled to a local coffee shop for snacks and partially sobered up. I think that was a mistake, in retrospect.
