>>43341767>Why do you recommend it over SWN?More skills, more detailed character generation, more ships, and the ability to design your own ships (and even get them built in-game), better starship combat (also more in-depth if you want to get into capital ships and vectors a la High Guard), more depth in trade and missions / patrons.
Traveller just has more detail, and has been honed over 30 years into a pretty decent game (with mongoose edition) SWN has great world generation systems, but Traveller can easily equal it with its own world gen.
Traveller also has a history of people exploring new sectors (hell almost the entire map of known space was generated by actual players of the game), and has some pre made star maps to get you started, from there you can say "ok we're going to be heading off from X system, into uncharted territory" or just have the players misjump and end up in the middle of uncharted space, kind of like star trek voyager.
I run a Traveller campaign and once you're familiar with the core rulebook it runs like a dream. Easy to customize your vessels, or your character with equipment and augmentations, The damage and combat system is also excellent.
