>>43347855She should do some therapy. I've gamed with several rape survivors and none of this has ever been a problem.
BTW, by "therapy" I mean seeing a real, licensed psychologist. If she goes to a rape crisis center or her college's women's center, she'll be handed to an activist whose training is almost entirely political. Typically, their "help" does more harm than good and is meant for their own benefit, not hers. This applies for many professional rape counselors who aren't licensed psychologists. Look for someone with a psyD or a PhD in clinical psychology and state licensing-- NOT someone with just a masters.
Also, if this is a pending complaint and she's in college, do NOT go to your college administration. Go to the police. The college will try to run this as a political/administrative issue, and amateur detective professors might well ruin the criminal case. Sure they'll railroad the accused, because politics, but their phony baloney trial will keep him out of jail, which if he's guilty is where he belongs. And if the perp has connections in the administration, they'll find ways to clear him.
So like I said I've had several survivors in my groups, including my wife. We've never run a rape scene or even mentioned rape in-game and I suggest you don't either. If you want to call something a "fencing blade" go right ahead but calling it a rapier shouldn't hurt anything. Going out of your way to walk on eggshells won't help her. The way to get past this is to not let it define her. Be loving and supportive.
