3.PF is godawful. It's a clunky, unbalanced system with no sense of focus, pointless granularity of rules in some areas and incredible vagueness in others. The core imbalance of caster supremacy is well known, and one of the best things you can do to make
3.PF vaguely more playable is ban core.
Does that mean it's unplayable? Absolutely not. You can have fun games of
3.PF, and there are a lot of guidelines you can use. I've done so, and had fun in the past. But all that enjoyment is achieved despite the system, not because of it.
Being a GM is even worth. Encounter math is utterly fucked, and the guidelines you're given for balancing the opponents your players will face is virtually meaningless. Even progression advice like wealth by level breaks down due to the different degrees classes rely on magic items. One random item you throw in as a reward might break the game (even worse).
The worst thing about it is the huge numbers of people who refuse to acknowledge its flaws because they enjoy the system. If you love D&D, you should be the people most aware and most critical of it being a broken piece of shit to its very core.
