>>43372366Silly, evil is only action created in the absence of good and done so out of selfish desire at the expense of fellow man.
There is The Good, a perfect understanding of the greatest of the Forms, or monads if you prefer, and evil the the rejection of the willing desire to seek that which is good and just out of a slothfulness that makes men give up on the greater things and ideas in life out of purely base and selfish reasons.
A man can seek to cultivate Good in their heart a number of ways, such as by ethical study, faith is a just moral code/ religion, seeking to follow and emulate the Socratic Virtues, or just trying to be excellent to other people.
Evil merely leeks up by choosing to choose the lesser option, often out of fear, willful ignorance, laziness, uncontrolled desire, or just selfishness. This behavior is then reinforced through the mental gymnastics of trying to justify yourself, by seeking to absolve yourself of any culpability for your own action and washing your hands of guilt. Such fools fail to realize that, as Humans, they have near infinite potential for change and improvement to make themselves into better people and beings. However they grouse about, short selling their potential and saying "it can't be helped, I'm not responsible, nor am I good enough". They shortsell their grand nature, wasting their gifts and trapping themselves in a self fulfilling and recursive rut of mediocrity, all the while lamenting about their situation and expecting someone else to do all the work for them. And while many such beings do often need just a small boost to rebuild themselves, many refuse to accept to make the most of such aid, and instead take it for granted and become gluttonous consumers of pity.
As such, while there are gradients that exist, there are still noticeable levels of black (thankfully few) and white, and there are some grades of gray between them pending upon how much you still hold yourself to standards of Good and decency.
