>>43349114Okay, so, basically, Warhammer was fucked over by a mountain of mistakes on GW's part.
1. Update schedules for the game were erratic and weird, making certain armies totally unappealing. Bretonnia for example hadn't seen an update in like a decade as of The End Times. GW, being the total retards they are, attributed the lack of people buying these factions to the game being unpopular, rather than a result of their inadequate support for it.
2. Models became increasingly aesthetically unappealing, aping the 'over the top' style of 40K. Once again, this was unsuccessful in raising sales, but GW was too stubborn to see that they were the ones doing harm.
3. Rules became increasingly horde focused in order to force players to buy more. Surprise surprise, people don't like being forced to do ANYTHING, and furthermore this made the game harder to start for new players. Once again, GW refused to acknowledge that they were making a mistake, and decided to blame their buyer base.
Basically, GW made a habit out of confusing cause and effect with Warhammer - probably because they're just too hardheaded and stubborn to admit that their decisions in regards to the game have been extremely stupid. They decided that they didn't mess things up, that the game itself is the problem for not being enough like 40K, and pulled the plug. They're now hoping that they can sell AoS to new players and 40Kids. Unfortunately they've failed to make anything about AoS interesting.
