My party have been following a 'destroy the macguffins' questline for a while now. each adventure ends up following the same formula of a bad guy/boss monster sitting on top of a macguffin, until the party rolls up, makes their way through the dungeon, and geeks the boss. they haven't started complaining but they're definitely used to the way it works by now.

what are some ways i can make a dungeon with a boss monster and a divine artifact more interesting?
