Who else plays? Just had an epic game last night using multiple expansion sets. We all cycled through red and made it back to orange before winning. Touch and go in the middle, but we pulled through.

Who are your favorite characters?
Weapons?
Tactics?
What expansions do you like?
Things you'd like to see in future expansions?

I'm pretty hyped to get my BP. This is going to be my entry in zombicide.
I plan to play with my gf mostly. Maybe paint some minis togheter.

The minis are really quite nice, but it's a weird plastic. I haven't tried painting any yet.

The basic set is great, and the expansions just make it that much better. Most worthwhile game I've played in some time.

Characters: Jason Statham and Michael Douglas from Falling Down. Aside from being cool, both have useful skills. Also Angelina Jolie as a Sniper.

Weapons: Chainsaw is a no-brainer. Shotgun is great overall especially when someone with sniper or steady hand has it. At higher levels the various assault rifles are great. The ultra-red weapons are fun and make killing the hordes much easier once you hit red.

Tactics: We generally play cautiously, but that's not always the smart move. Sometimes you can't sit around, but need to keep moving. Each mission takes a different approach. Play each a few times and you will start to get a feel for it.

Is this game actually any good? I've read contradictory things about it, and 80-90 bucks seems really fucking expensive compared to other miniature boardgames.

Yes the plastic is light, not bad, but light. Word from CMON says the plastic in BP is going to be harder.
In the end it should work decently.

My group finds it very enjoyable. The rules are quite good, and simple modifications raise/lower difficulty.

As it is out of the box, the game is incredibly lethal. We generally lose 50% of games we play.

It's a really nice break from 40K, Flames of War and the like. Easy to set up and clean up, and not hard for newbies to just jump into.

As for the game it self, it's fun, easy to pick up, pretty brutal and, imo at least, is very balanced in how it rewards both styles of gameplay - if you try and zerg your way around you'll find that one pistol, an axe, a crowbar and 3 frying pans are no where near enough, and if you hole up in a room drawing item cards until you're tooled up to the eyeballs, as soon as you step out into the light you'll get face fucked good 'n proper.

Really the only thing that makes it feel really unfair to me is the extra action cards. If you draw two of those in a row, particularly the extra runner actions, you can basically scrub the game and set up again.

The way we do it is to take all the extra cards out of the deck and cut the deck into roughly equal but random piles. When a pile runs out, every zombie on the board takes an extra action.

We really like the extra layer of strategy this adds, because you can see the zombie surge coming and plan for it. Doesn't make the game significantly less lethal, we've still gotten eaten, but it does mitigate the unfair "fuck you" feeling we got the first couple of times we played it.

We do the same in our group. It's the one really rubbish rule that ruins the game. As you said, it will just break the flow of what you're trying to setup.
