The takara UM is a much bigger upgrade paint app per paint app than jet fire is.

If you want to get rid of the chrome just get some stripper. It comes right off in some denatured alcohol

EMS is about $15 and it takes five days. SAL and RSAL are the cheapest and I've never waited more than a week and a half.

You could go with Hasbro + an upgrade part set so he at least gets ankle tilts, wrists, and gap fillers.
