Yeah but the sets were absolute garbage, literally the only useful things to come out of 2005 were the extra long double socket pieces and the hordika neck pieces. Meanwhile 2015 has some of the best sets the series has had in a while (even the skull villains look a lot more cohesive and well-designed than many of even the better G1 sets post-04 (though I dont have Scorpio or Slicer yet)). I just can't rank 2015 below 2005 because of that.

By 09 people were already completely sick of the Inika build, and the fact that they completely threw away the story people liked at that point didn't help peoples opinion of the year (neither did the terrible movie), The Titans were alright but many suffered from either more inika-build spam, or some awkward parts usage. The new aesthetic and terrible head designs were also pretty polarizing I found.

2007 had some great designs, but also some terrible ones, the Barraki were great, the Titans were mostly good, but then you had shit like Hewkii Mahri and Karzahni that just looked terrible, and the whole lime green fiasco coupled with two launchers (squid and cordak) that didn't fucking work at all. It was also a really really gimmicky year in terms of setting / set design which some may have had issue with.

2001 was so good because the enemies were the Rahi, Because the year featured the village elders, the hero characters, the standard villagers (albeit as mcdonalds promos many of us weren't able to get at all ;_;), and the animals of the world, the entire year was more or less 100% lore and worldbuilding, and many the sets could be made relevant in-lore for the entirety of the line. By comparison, 2015 has lots of story, but the lack of standard villagers or animal life really hurts the worldbuilding.

Okoto exists on a future version of Spherus Magna, the villagers are the descendants of a unified Agori-Matoran hybrid species.
As Protodermis was lost to attrition (there was a LOT in the GSR, but this is a long-ass time we're talking about), Mask Making became more and more of a specialty job until it was only handled by one dude: Artakha, now going by "Ekimu."

At some point before the EHI (Euhemeristic Horizon of Imponderability; the point in a culture's history when reality and myth become inseparable and it's no longer useful to ask questions about what distinguishes the two), Ekimu created a new Makuta to be his replacement/apprentice.
Before this point, the existence of Toa in everyday society was no longer necessary, so Ekimu stashed them in deep orbit in case they were needed again.

Over time, imperfections in their containment caused elemental power to gradually leak out, forming planetoid moons around the Toa and causing them to lose their memories.

My theory is that G2 is a different/parallel universe BUT the Toa are the same Tahu, Gali etc from G1. They were equipped with new weapons and armour, but the journey cost them their memories (again)

It’s very simple. Around the base of the telescope are pictures. They are constellations, patterns of stars in the night sky, and markings that show the prophecies of legends. Each picture has a red star in it. When the Red Star reaches a certain place in the heavens, it means something important will happen here on Mata Nui: one of the prophecies. When you look through the telescope, you will see many stars, and one of them is the Red Star.
Look at the constellations near the Red Star. They will look like the ones in the pictures. When the Red Star is exactly where it is shown in one of the pictures, then a prophecy may come true. If something changes in the sky, it is my job to change the pictures, so that I can better see the future. Even though we Matoran remember the prophecies, nothing is certain… the future can change. If you can read the numbers in the telescope, it is even easier to tell the future.

There's way too many nostalgiafags in the bionicle fandom.
Like seriously.
You guys complain when they do something new, but then when I actually go back to an old design team it's "uncreative".
You guys complained that Lewa had keetorange instead of lime. And then his new set gives back the lime, but then you guys suddenly want the keetorange back.
For years people have been saying "gears were the best thing about Bionicle bring back the gears". And then they actually do bring back the gears but suddenly you guys are like "the gears are gimmicky and clunky I don't want them".
A big criticism of the first wave was that it looks too much like hero factory and not enough like the classic Bionicle. But when Lego actually makes new pieces with the piston detailing and more technic connections, it's now "pandering" or making things too complicated.
People complain that the old story was a cluster fuck, which it was. But when Lego tried to simplify and streamline things suddenly Bionicle is being "dumbed down".

Do you people even know what you want?

It seems like no matter what they do with the sets and story, you'll still complain because it isn't the original.

I've thought about using the tridax pod for boobplate before but I'm turned off because it only comes in orange. I'm still on the Rakshi-nuva moenicle cup. It probably doesn't really involve ball joints, because each individual tit doesn't move when the rest of the torso and friction rods are made to shift.

Obi-Wan shoulderpad, which was actually the basis of the whole moc.

Back when the SW figures got shown on that shop website earlier this year, I had planned to use that shoulder and the leg armor to make a CCBS Slendy.
So come August it becomes reality, and two months later a spooky contest gets announced. It was destiny.
Or that's what I thought until Papyrus crushed my enthusiasm by being amazing. Oh well, it would have come down to something sleek and/or covered in tires anyway.
So then yesterday I get a sudden rush of "maybe I can make top 5 if I try REALLY hard" and stay up til 3 AM trying to make something that can top Papyrus or at least Slendy, and pic related is the best I could come up with. Problem is, while it's the greatest thing I've ever created, it's only a head. Had to go with Slendy after all.
So then today I get called in to work and have to take pics at night (which worked this time, spooky and whatnot), post it to BZP riddled with memes and even a "HE", and even paid $40 for premium membership in hopes that the status would make me appeal to BZP's users, only for some asshole to IMMEDIATELY accuse me of not taking a rigged contest seriously, and another to just say "nice meme".
Rarely do I feel this kind of regret.
I could have used that money to buy more parts. Or food. Or fucking anything.
It's like when you go to the store really hungry, or stop at a garage sale after cashing a check.

Dammit, it pisses me right the fuck off that Blender can't lay the UVs for shit. Can anyone explain me why it fucks up? Oh yeah, and I made a webisode-styled Mask of Stone.
I once made a flat Imperial Aquila wing and when I unwrapped it, it was heavily malformed and misproportioned where it should had been the same in both the 3D view window and the UV/Image editor.
I'm using both 2.4 and 2.7 and they both give me such errors. Some times different from one another, but still errors.

Finally got skull slicer and was surprised by how much I like his arms. But I still cant understand the lack of leg armor, it seems like throwing on a gunmetal shell with a silver spike (like on his upper left arm) to each leg would make him look a lot more complete, though I guess that is what Bricklink is for.

Prepare to be disappoint.

The 4m liftarms occlude with the hand's top knuckles.
Substituting the bottom ones with 1/2m bushings doesn't fix it either. The front knuckles keep the mechanism from closing all the way.

Onua's shell has never had a design on it, all the others have used stickers. I'm assuming this has something to do with the rarity of the piece.

As for Kopaka, that piece is a little weird. I've never seen it printed on. Printing might have to be set up like a new mold, printing would be for a single specific mold. If there isn't enough need to use printing, they go with stickers.

I thought it was just because that piece had a surface that was too irregular for their printing machines. It can't be because of rarity, because they produce plenty of pieces that only get released with prints.

I don't see what problems Finn's build has exactly. Certainly there will be gaps in the absence of the beast fins, but on the other hand it looks like this wave introduces some new paneling to properly cover their backs.

I'd say that Finn seems to really be the simplest of the Resistance, though. With hos simple his outfit is, I don't mind. Poe has the flight suit, Rey has that neat cloth work, but Finn is just wearing a vest and jeans.

Certain online shops offered the Hero Pack for free if you added it to your cart, other sites required you to leave a note asking them to include it with your order, but some sites handled it like a genuine product and demanded money for it. Some toy stores also gave it away with every Bionicle purchase above a certain price.

Don't know how it went down in the US, and as for the Villain Pack, I haven't seen it anywhere so far. Not that I'm actually looking, I haven't had any spare money to spend on Bonkles since like March.

Blender 2.7 unfolds the same shape just fine with and without applying scale and rotation. In 2.4 on the other hand, everything that could go wrong did.
I'm starting to think that the older algorhythm has trouble calculating islands with more than a few polies.
But thanks for helping regardless. I learned something. Btw, do you know if I can disable the automatic scaling and rotation of islands Blender does when it unwraps?

It's the same piece as armor for Tahu's upper legs and the creature's chests but upside-down. I can see the same piece on Tahu too, looks like they will have blue technic pins sticking out the back to connect the creatures to, though because they are armor pieces, it also means that all of these sets will have back armor too, though integrated tightly into the torso construction.

I just realized that Onua and Kopaka got kinda shafted with their creature powerups.

Tahu and Lewa get wings, Pohatu gets stinger tail and extra legs and Gali gets the fins and dual shooters.

Onua and Kopaka get just some extra armor.

Shit, if all the Uniters are built that way (and looking at the poster, it seems like that may be the case with at least most of them), then we are getting a TON of that new armor piece this wave (approximately 17 I believe, 5-6 in gold, the rest in silver). I don't know...The idea was to learn and get some experience in 3D modeling by making some low poly bonkle stuff. The problem with 3D modeling is there are ungodly amounts of information to absorb. Each phase is difficult, time-consuming and can at any point become a wasted effort. Results and errors are seemingly arbitrary and often even long-time modelers are having a hard time.
