I would also suggest you can't really fully "get" each other, if you have the kind of clicking you get with people who get you back. For instance, if you like the kind of obscure lived-through-it kind of reference humor of say a Dennis Miller, you will never ever have that with a foreign spouse. If you want to talk the 80s, your childhood, that one season show you loved that one summer, or some one-liners and euphemisms....ehh, they aint getting it. And, that kind of you complete me charm with someone that is your true peer, will just never be the magic you get in a relationship with someone who grew up like you did. But, if you don't have that, and your significant other is some brilliant mind you can philosophize with, dream with, and be proud to know? S'okay. When there is a disparity in a relationship, in intelligence, it takes on some creepy predator-prey mentality, much as a old dude with a young woman borders on obscene, or the guy who got the mail order bride looking for money and he for sex. CREEPY. When it's just physical,and someone is taking advantage of the other, wrong wrong wrong.
