Going to the Philippines (Manila, Boracay for New Year's, Cebu, considering Palawan) for a couple months in starting in December. What should I expect?
>Is it really as easy to pick up women as they say? I'm 6'0 even, /fit/ (otter mode w/ abs), white American w/ brown hair and blue eyes. I've heard I'll literally have to try to not get laid. Is that an exaggeration?
>Saltwater crocodiles, 2spooky5me? What are the odds of being attacked by one in Boracay or El Nido? Plan on swimming with some Whale Sharks in Cebu, do they range around there?
>Palawan worth it? I've heard it's must see, anyone have experience?
>Best hotels to stay in? Can anyone recommend me good hotels for Manila, Cebu, and Boracay? Not really into the backpacker hostel thing, and I prioritize cleanliness and safety first and foremost.
Sup /trv/, so me and some friends are planning a eurotrip for next summer and we want to roll by either train or bus. So far i havent planned much, but we are starting in Gothenburg and right now it looks something like this: Denmark (Copenhagen) Germany (Berlin) Czech Republic (Prague) back to Germany for Munich Austria (Salzburg, Vienna) Slovakia (Bratislava) Hungary (Budapest) Serbia (Novi Sad, Belgrade) Croatia Slovenia
So imagine doing this and end up in Ljubljana, where would you go after? And also, how good is it to travel by train/bus through Europe? I still want to see national parks and alps and lakes etc.
Im also very grateful for any tips on things to do and places worth seeing in the above countries/cities and also any other country in central europe because i can always change the trip if change my mind.
I'm currently in Riga. I've been here for a week, and I have another three to use. Who better to ask than /trv/?
I'd love to hear anybody's opinion on what there is to do, everything from where the parties and the interesting bars are at, to which parsk and churches are interesting.
I'm here to improve my Russian, and if anybody has any tips in that direction, that would also be great.
And if anybody has any questions or are interested in the area, I'd love to answer as good as I can.
Hi /trv/, I want to head to japan for the next rugby world cup, and since i just landed a stable job i want to start saving. How much do you guys is a good amount to save up for a trip like this?
Hey guys, I'm studying abroad in the UK right now and wanted some feedback on a trip I'm planning around Europe after the semester ends. Right now I have it planned to go from London to Barcelona on a bus, Barcelona to Civitavecchia/Rome on a cruise/ferry boat, Rome to Venice, Venice to Vienna, Vienna to Prague, Prague to Dresden, Dresden to Berlin all on tram and finally flying on the 22nd day back to London to fly home. Right now my budget is roughly 1200, with the travel section from London back to London costing me 350, hostels (with free breakfast usually) 350 also and the rest on food and small/cheap souvenirs. Anyone try something to this scale and can testify to local costs and personal experiences? It'd be 3 days in every city except 2 in Dresden and 4 in Rome.
I'm going to be going to Los Angeles next month for a week with my girlfriend. We're planning on going to Disneyland, Hollywood Blvd., all of the kinda big touristy things since it's our first time there. I'm basically gonna be driving a rental car everywhere - downtown, and on highways.
I've heard that driving there is pretty horrible, and I've been looking up on some of the unwritten rules (turning left on yellow/red lights), but are there any L.A. drivers with any general driving tips, or areas to avoid? I want to be as prepared as possible since I'm gonna be doing the driving.
This is coming from a Seattle driver, where everyone up here is timid and passive aggressive.
I'm new to this as I've never took a trip outside of North America before. I've been to Canada to visit friends, and Mexico to visit family.
I have many questions if you don't mind answering them.
I have heard Japan is very Xenophobic from many people, although my friend who is Black says the contrary (but I won't be traveling with him), is this true? I am Mexican if that wasn't already addressed.
I don't speak a lick of Japanese, nor can I read Kanji, should I try to learn a bit before going?
How should one go about not being a tourist, I do have good socializing skills, so does that help in any way?
I was considering taking a trip there for about roughly a month, would that be ideal or should I consider less time?
I am a fanatic of outdoors as well, is the country side worth seeing?
Any good cities with a good night life such as clubs and what not to visit?
Around how much money should one plan to spend while their stay?
Does anyone have any experience with companies offering internships abroad? Were you actually placed with decent companies? Got something valuable out of it?
Or should I just sign up for volunteering instead?
Plan to make a week long solo trip in mid-March but can't decide between Japan or Sri Lanka.
I'll be able to save up around $2000 and it seems like Japan is gonna be too expensive. My heart is set on Japan but if it is too expensive I'm gonna have to settle for Sri Lanka. What do you guys think? Is Japan possible in my budget? Want to visit Tokyo, Kyoto and Yakushima forest. Plus Japanese women > Sri Lankan women.
