Best Jobs that Include Traveling

No.1040429 ViewReplyReportDelete
I didn't see a thread like this so I figured what the hell.

What are the best jobs that allow or require travel?

I'm in contract archeology. I can really only speak to my experience but I've been "shovelbumming" for the last year, tooling around from job to job trying to find a place to settle. Even though I've found a local firm to work with I know a lot of you /trv/ folks'd like to know about jobs that's keep you on the move. Well "shovelbumming" definitely does that.

Is it weird to go on a cruise alone? I work too hard, and I want to get away.

I'm planning cross country trip across The United States. I have a few thousand dollars saved up, but I want to be able to cut costs however I can. I'm planning on using Couchsurfing or WWOOF as much as possible. I just had a few questions before I go. Any help is appreciated
1. Where could I store my backpack while I'm exploring a city, so I don't have to carry it everywhere?
2. Is it really possible places such as churches, fire stations, or hospitals will let you stay the night for free?

Do employers look down on you if you quit your job to travel?

I quit my job, now I feel guilty about travelling.

Hey bros,
Vietnam seems quite popular here and I'm drunk, so..anybody in Saigon and up for a beer?
My friends forced me to go to this horrendous club with shit music and I am looking for an exit.

I know /trv is slow af but I'm drunk af so tomorrow or anytime soon is fine too! Anyone up for happy hours is welcome

Working or studying abroad

I feel depressed staying in Canada for my whole life. My dream is to go abroad and work in another country, probably somewhere in Asia. I'm a 25 year old male.

I've been to Japan and really like it there, but I think my only options would be working in a restaurant, doing some type of farm work or maybe working in a hostel/guest house (I only have a two year hospitality diploma, not a university degree). I suppose I would have the same work choices in Korea, or anywhere else.

Another option is continuing school, and staying somewhere for 4 years to complete a degree. In my country, being an international student is a complete ripoff. However, I've heard it can be done cheaply elsewhere, such as South Korea. Is this a good idea for someone like me?

Resources:

>$0 savings/debt
>Very basic understanding of Japanese
>2 year hospitality management diploma
>Not really picky about where I land, as long as I can be happy and somewhat successful

I know I'll have to work and save up money for a while to fund my trip before leaving Canada. I'm not sure about how much I'll need, though. Oh, I should also mention that I don't really care about what sort of place I have to live in (small apartment is fine, I only care about getting the cheapest place possible). That being said, I do prefer being somewhere convenient that won't cost me a fortune for local transportation. Somewhere I can have a social life would be nice too, so I might have to rule farm work out.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. I wonder if anyone here has been in a similar situation in the past. Let me know if I'm forgetting any important details.

It's that time again /trv/!

It's been a while since /trv/'s virtual football team has had a game, but we will be playing twice in the Autumn Babby Cup at the weekend, with a game on Saturday against /wg/ and then Sunday against /h/.

From what I've seen we look more than competent, at times utterly lethal, I actually submitted our export on time this deadline so we will be fully functional.

On the wiki, implyingrigged.info, you will find our team roster, music, and the schedule for the upcoming Cup. I am only the manager who puts it all together on the pitch, all suggestions on things such as the Team's players, kits, walk-out anthem and goal music are greatly appreciated! Before our next Cup I plan on refreshing the team a little, /trv/ as a board has changed quite a bit since 2012.

So let's hope Sex Tourist, Superpornowat Farangbang & Co. can fire us back into the big leagues!
